Greetings Walden Families,
As with all illnesses, for the benefit of the health and wellness of all students and staff we advise you not to send your child to school if they may be sick. We will continue to notify you to pick up your child should they become ill at school.
Center for Disease Control and L.A. County Department of Public Health Guidelines If you or someone you know has traveled to Wuhan and feels sick, please:
Additionally, at Walden, we will continue to reinforce the following guidelines with students: Stay home when you are sick Stay home from work and school and try to avoid errands when you are sick. Per our policy, we require students with influenza symptoms, including a fever, a cough, or sore throat to stay home and not attend school for at least 24 hours after the fever resolves without the use of fever-reducing medications.
Cover your mouth and nose Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.
Clean your hands Washing your hands will help protect you from germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
Practice other good health habits Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work, or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious food.
Sincerely,
Terra Toscano Walden School
