The Big Help Committee is excited to bring back the year-round partnership with Friends In Deed, a local organization serving Pasadena's homeless and at-risk communities.
You may drop off donations weekly on Fridays during drop-off and we will deliver them to Friends in Deed. Donated items can either be dropped off in the front office, or students can deliver them to the Walden pantry in the South building hallway (with permission from their teachers). Current top requests include:
- "Gold"/most needed items: canned tuna & chicken, hearty soups, stew, chili, pasta & pasta sauce, cereal, rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, fruit juice, and vegetable juice (V8)
- Other non-perishable foods: dry beans, oats, canned fruits & vegetables, canned beans, coffee, jelly, milk (shelf stable or powder)
- Please make sure all food items are unopened and have not passed their expiration dates
- Toiletries (shampoo & conditioner, soap, toothbrushes & toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products, shaving razors, etc.), pet food (dog & cat), and diapers & infant formula
- Masks & hand sanitizers
We are also looking for donations of paper bags with handles to transport the items.
Additional community service initiatives will be announced soon!
