Summer of Art

This week will be an in-depth exploration of various arts and crafts mediums, with an emphasis on technique and personal expression.  Our students will create their pieces from the ground up, mixing colors, building looms, and publishing their own magazines, while our instructors guide their process and create a positive environment for artistic and emotional exploration. We will hold classroom critiques where the students can offer constructive criticism of each other’s projects and share their difficulties and moments of achievement. This week is a fun and exciting journey for young artists who thrive in a supportive and expressive art community.

Camp Breathe ...

Let’s face it, summer can be a bit overwhelming due to the various activities or vacations planned.  Breathe…is the perfect ½ mark, which will offer your child a safe place to reconnect and become emotionally grounded, before returning to school in the fall.

Breathe…was designed to give children the appropriate resources and tools to better manage their feelings and emotional states. Influenced by Leah Kuyper’s method, The Zones of Regulation, breathe… coaches children in discovering personal “triggers," comprehending complex feelings, and recognizing the power of their actions.

Our program will offer various activities and games to guide students through “The Zones of Regulation.” These activities include: journaling, role-playing, crafting, cooking, yoga, hiking, and much more! It is our goal to offer children individualized tools to promote creative problem solving and emotional competence with a twist of summer fun!

Teachers: Janice Orense and Stephanie McGowan
Age Group: Students entering grades K-3
Fee: $350
