Dear Walden Families,
Please join us next Saturday, April 27, from 8:00 a.m. to noon for Walden's annual Big Help.
The morning is full of opportunities for all families to participate in service projects that align with Walden's curriculum at each core level, strengthen on-going partnerships with organizations that Walden supports, and give back to our local community.
This year, the Lower Core will be leading succulent planting on the North yard with an annual Saturday visit to our friends at the Monte Vista Grove Homes senior center.
Middle Core, in alignment with their native plant and local ecosystem study, will be leading a partnership with Friends of Griffith Park to restore the landscape of the park (please check your inbox next week for directions and meeting spot).
Also on the Walden campus, Upper Core students have been working with the Friends in Deed Women's Room and will complete their student-directed project of making art kits, write cards of encouragement, and assemble care packages for the patrons of the Women's Room.
While these activities are spearheaded by certain cores, all are invited to participate in each project.
Supplies and donations are also needed. Click here for more information about the projects and ways to contribute.
A huge thank you to Elaine Cameron and Cindy Chung Camins for organizing this important tradition.
See you around school,
